Darwin Shopping
The main shopping area of Darwin is
the Smith Street mall. In Smith Street and the numerous arcades
that link it with surrounding streets you will find everything you need
for your tropical holiday. Take particular notice of the art/craft
outlets, for well-priced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander work.
If you must have air-conditioned shopping,
then catch the number 10 bus to the end of the line for Casuarina Square,
which includes cinemas. This is literally cool consumerism.
Other suburban shopping centres at Palmerston and Karama have 24-hour
supermarkets and other budget-priced outlets such as Target.
