Galleries and Museums
The city itself is a living museum, showcasing
the history of World War II through the preservation of ammunition bunkers,
airstrips and oil tunnels in and around the city. The Wharf
Precinct has been redeveloped from the old port, and includes an
excellent pearling exhibition and marine display.
At Bullocky Point on Fannie Bay, the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory contains wonderful
collections of Aboriginal, Torres Strait, Indonesian and Pacific island
art and artefacts, as well as historical data and a very well-documented
story of Cyclone Tracy.
